About Me

I am an Atlanta-based artist, illustrator, and live painter whose work explores memory, family history, cultural identity, and place. Through drawing, painting, installation, and performance, I create artwork that connects personal stories to broader conversations about community, history, and belonging. My practice moves between the energy of live painting and the reflection of the studio. Whether creating artwork inspired by family archives, transforming everyday objects into sculpture, or responding to public events in real time, I am interested in how art can preserve stories, spark dialogue, and deepen our understanding of one another. As a Teaching Artist with the High Museum of Art and a visual communications professional with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, I believe creativity has the power to educate, inspire, and bring people together. My work is rooted in curiosity, craftsmanship, and a commitment to honoring the people and histories that shape us.

Painting

Inspired by the quilt draped across the lap of fellow Teaching Artist Marquetta Johnson, this painting reflects on memory, presence, mentorship, and the traces people leave behind.
